Holding onto the mottos of mottos of \u201cSimplicity, Truthfulness, Firmness, and Perseverance\u201d, Tamkang University carries out its environmental management of teaching, research, scholastic events, and services on Taipei, Tamsui, and Lanyang campuses in pursuit of ideas of globalization, information-oriented education, and future-oriented education. We have the following missions:<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Promote environment education on campus to corroborate the basis of such concept.<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Boost the efficacy of energy and resources use to create a green campus.<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Advocate recycling and reuse to preserve natural resources.<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Realize pollution prevention and reduction to protect the nature.<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Adhere to all related norms and laws and be open to the public.<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/div>\n

To better engage in the efforts of environmental protection and safety and health measures, Tamkang University has established a \u201cPromotion Committee for the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System\u201d, a center for and a specialized committee for Environmental Protection, Safety, and Health to serve these purposes. <\/span><\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
The Center for Environmental Protection, Safety, and Health is mainly in charge of promoting the education on environment and labor\u2019s safety and health issues, evaluation and supervision of laboratories and internship venues, prevention, surveillance, and control of campus pollution, as well as improvement of campus, coordination of vocational damage prevention, labor safety, and health insurance, and supervision and management of toxic chemical substances control. <\/span><\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
Tamkang<\/span> University<\/span> adopts the ISO 14001 environmental management system. The Taipei and Tamsui campuses have been certified by the ISO 14001 requirements in 2003, and so has the Lanyang campus in December, 2010. <\/span><\/font><\/b><\/div>\n
